David Roberts grew up in Milpitas California. He started playing piano when he was nine. By twelve he decided that he wanted to branch out with music, so he picked up his mothers guitar, and never looked back. He started performing at the age of sixteen at various churches and at an occasional club.
He attended Ohlone College where he studied guitar with Richard Kendrick, and voice with Dr. Dennis Keller. David continues his education at San Jose State University where he is in the process of getting his composition degree. He is a soloist, and member of San Jose State Concert Choir. David is also studying film music with Dr. Dan Wyman, the composer of “Lawnmower Man.” He studies composition with Dr. Pablo Furman, and voice with Joseph Frank.
David has been teaching guitar, voice, piano, and early music classes in Milpitas and San Jose for eight years. David operates a home recording studio, where he writes music for short films. He also writes orchestral compositions, and his own songs which he often performs.
Most recently David leads worship at Park Victoria Baptist church. He is an integral part of the music there, where he plays guitar and sings. He also received his first commission for the upcoming Fiftieth Anniversary of the church, for his song “Jubilee.” |
